Research interests

My research interests focus on astrophysical modeling and Bayesian model comparison for various time series.

My postdoctoral research at University of Hertfordshire is about developing algorithms to analyse doppler measurements of stars to find exoplanets. The algorithms will also be applied in other disciplines.

My PhD thesis research is about assessing the influence of astronomical phenomena on the Earth. I have worked on the development of time series models and analysis tools, and the application of these to biological and geological data sets such as mass extinctions, impact craters and paleoclimatic proxies on the Earth. I am the first author on three papers describing this work. I am also interested in the formation and evolution of the Oort cloud and its impact on the motions of long period comets.

Overview

I am a postdoc researcher working with Hugh Jones on developing algorithms to detect exoplanets using radial velocity data. Before coming to UH, I have got my PhD at Max Planck Institute for Astronomy and the University of Heidelberg in Heidelberg, Germany. I received my Msc and Bsc in China. My research insterests forcus on Bayesian statistics, exoplanets, the Oort cloud, Paleoclimatological and geological time series analysis, the Solar system, celestrial dynamics and weak lensing.
