Overview
Festus Oluseyi Oderanti is a Senior Lecturer in Information Systems at University of Hertfordshire Business School. Prior to joining University of Hertfordshire, Festus was a Lecturer in Knowledge and Information Management and the Program Manager for MSc in Digital and Social Media Marketing at Plymouth University (July 2013- June 2016).
He is also presently a Visiting Fellow with the Newcastle University Culture Lab as well as the Business School, University of Newcastle upon Tyne. He collaborates with the Lab on their research in the areas of Business Models and Assisted Living Technologies.
Festus obtained his PhD in Computer Science (2007 2010) from Intelligent Systems Lab, School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh, United Kingdom. His PhD research area was in strategic business games and decision making under uncertainty.
Dr Olu Oderanti holds two Master degrees (Master degree in Computer Science and Master degree in Business Administration). He obtained a Bachelor of Technology degree (B.Tech) in Computer Science in year 2000.
From July 2011 to June 2013, Festus worked with the Newcastle University Business School as a Postdoctoral Research Associate on Sustainable Business Models for Assisted Living Technologies & Services (SALT) project. This project (20112014) was led by Newcastle University under the ‘Assisted living: Economic and Business Models, and Social & Behavioural Studies’ programme, funded by TSB, ESRC & NIHR as part of Assisted Living Innovation Platform (ALIP).
Prior to that, Festus worked with University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom for about five years as an IT Helpline Analyst and IT Tutor.
He has ITSM/ITIL Foundation Certificate, ITIL V2V3 Bridge Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management as well as ITIL Practitioner Certificate in Service Desk and Incident Management.
He had also worked for more than five years (20022007) with Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Nigeria as a lecturer with Computer Engineering Department and later with Computer Science Department of the same college.

Research interests
Festus research areas are decision support systems for logistic operation, decision making under uncertainty, strategic business games, fuzzy logic, decision making in networks, eBusiness development, sustainable and scalable business model for assisted living (eHealthcare) technologies, and game related research in the systems, man and cybernetics area.
He has worked on a number of high profile research projects such a research project on sustainable business models for assisted living technologies & services (SALT) project. The research was to design a sustainable business model for a "Scalable Assistive Technologies and Services for Independent Healthy Living and Sustainable Market Development in the Mixed Digital Economy” and funded by Technology Strategy Board (TSB), ESRC and NIHR under the ALIP3 Program: Assisted Living: Economic and Business Models, and Social & Behavioural Studies.
Festus is a co-investigator (Co-I) on 20142016 EU Erasmus Plus KA2 project "Developing online tools to foster entrepreneurship in the retail sector for young people", funded by European Commission, €120,832.
